Actor Sung Kang (Fast and Furious Series) is set to star as one of the leads of action crime thriller "Snakehead" directed by Sundance film festival alum Evan Jackson Leong (Linsanity). King Street Pictures principal Dan Mark is producing alongside Brian Yang (Hawaii Five-O, Man with the Iron Fists).
"Fiction and Other Realities" was just highlighted by the Seoul Film Commission as a featured project filming in Seoul, South Korea alongside the Wachowskis' Netflix Series "Sense8". King Street Principal Dan Mark is co-producing the U.S. and South Korea co-production film, which recently completed a fifteen day shoot in the Hongdae neighborhood of Seoul, the epicenter for underground arts and youth culture in South Korea.
King Street Pictures is now producing the action crime thriller "Snakehead" with writer director Evan Jackson Leong of Arowana Films and producer Brian Yang of 408 Films, the director and producer team behind the award-winning documentary film "Linsanity" featuring Jeremy Lin which premiered at the prestigious Sundance film festival in 2013. Evan Jackson Leong has been tapped to write and direct the film, with Leong, Brian Yang and King Street Pictures principal Dan Mark serving as Producers.
"Snakehead" is a feature film about a woman's rise in the international underworld of human smuggling set in New York Chinatown, and is set to begin principal photography in early 2017.
Evan Jackson Leong previously directed the documentary "1040: Christianity in the New Asia" (2010) and the documentary short "BLT Genesis" (2002), which tracks the behind-the-scenes making of and trajectory of his long time mentor Justin Lin's film, "Better Luck Tomorrow" (2002). In short form digital, he has worked on various projects with Michelle Phan. And some of his most recent work has been with the acclaimed fashion influencer Chriselle Lim.
Brian Yang, an actor / producer, previously starred in "Hawaii Five-0" (2011-2014), "The Man With the Iron Fists" (2012), and "Saving Face" (2004).
King Street Pictures principal Dan Mark has signed on as Co-Producer of the U.S. / South Korea co-production film "Fiction and Other Realities". The film stars Bobby Choy, whose last feature "Ktown Cowboys" premiered at the 2015 South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) and was released theatrically by Freestyle Releasing, Korean film and drama star 임화영 Lim Hwa-Young, who was featured in popular Korean dramas "Signal" (tvN 2016) and "Yong-Pal" (SBS 2015), and 황현성 Hwang Hyun-Seong, who is best known as the drummer of popular Korean punk band No Brain. The film is also produced by Sejin Park, producer of the Viki Original Drama Series "Dramaworld" featuring Justin Chon. Steve Lee and Bobby Choy co-direct the film, which features the original music of multiple-time South by Southwest (SXSW) Musical Showcase artist Big Phony.
Always the movie has been released on Video On Demand on all major cable providers and is also available on iTunes.
King Street Pictures principal Dan Mark served as lead Associate Producer, Story Editor and Music Supervisor on the film, and principal Rachel Tan was Associate Producer, provided legal services and also co-starred as investigative reporter Maggie Ong.
Always stars Derek Ting, Danni Wang (The Blacklist, Madam Secretary), and Peter Shinkoda (Netflix's Daredevil, TNT's Falling Skies) as well as industry veterans Philip Chan (Hard Boiled, Police Story 3: Supercop, Bloodsport, Double Impact) and Ian Buchanan (Panic Room, General Hospital, Days of our Lives).
The film completed post production at Technicolor at Paramount Studios with Oscar Award winning sound mixer Ben Wilkins (Whiplash). Earlier this year, Always was an official selection at the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival, and the film has received rave reviews from audiences at sold out premieres in Los Angeles, New York and Hong Kong. Gravitas Ventures is distributing.

King Street Pictures has optioned the rights to Christian Fantasy Epic pitch "Heavenquest: A Pilgrim's Progress" from filmmaker Matthew Bilen based on an original screenplay written by Darren Wilson, the renowned Christian documentary maker behind such well known films as Father of Lights, Furious Love, Finger of God, and Holy Ghost. Producer Dan Mark will develop and produce the project, which is inspired by the 17th Century classic fable Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan and was previously in development by WP Films.
